U is for Umbrella

Step 1. Gather your materials. You will need 1 letter U in the color of your choice, a brown shepherds crook, 2 gray ovals, a bunch of blue rain drops, background paper, and glue.

Step 2. Glue the shepherd's crook on the middle of the page.

Step 3. Glue one of the ovals vertically at the bottom of the shepherd's crook.
 
Step 4. Glue the other oval horizontally at the bottom of the shepherd's crook.

Step 5. Glue the letter U on top of the ovals and the shepherd's crook.

Step 6. Glue the raindrops around the page.

T is for Turkey

Step 1. Gather your materials. You will need a brown capital letter T, a brown circle, 1 yellow feather, 2 red feathers, 2 orange feathers, 2 yellow feet, 1 yellow triangle,1 red wattle, a black marker, background paper, and glue.

Step 2. Glue the feathers in a fan shapped pattern.

Step 3. Glue the capital T on top of the fan.

Step 4. Glue the brown circle on top of the T.

Step 5. Glue the red wattle onto the brown circle.

Step 6. Glue the yellow triangle on top of the red wattle.

Step 7. Glue the yellow feet onto the bottom of the letter T.

Step 8. Use the black marker to give your turkey eyes.

S is for Space

Step 1. Gather your materials. You will need a black letter S, planets, stars, and glue.

Step 2. Glue the letter S onto the background paper.

Step 3. Glue the stars and planets onto the letter S.


Note: Another interesting idea would be to draw the stars and planets using crayon onto a letter S. Then paint over the letter with black watercolor to create a crayon resist. You could also use stickers in place of paper cut outs.

B is for Boat

Step 1. Gather your materials. You will need an uppercase brown letter B, a brown rectangle, a green triangle, background paper, a blue wave, 2 pirate faces, and glue.

Step 2. Glue the letter B to the paper with the curves of the b to the bottom of the paper.

Step 3. Glue the waves on top of the letter B.

Step 4. Glue the pirate faces onto the letter B to look like the pirates are leaning out the window.

Step 5. Glue the brown rectangle at the top of the letter B to look like the boat mast.

Step 6. Glue the green triangle on top of the brown rectangle to look like a sail.

R is for Rainforest

Step 1. Gather your materials. You will need 1 capital R cut out from light brown paper, 3 lower case r's cut out from dark brown paper, 1 large tree top cut out from green paper, 3 small tree tops cut out from green paper, glue, and several animal images to color. I used an elephant, gorilla, snake, monkey, and toucan.

Step 2. Glue the capital R in the center of the page.

Step 3. Glue the large tree top to the top of the capital R.

Step 4. Glue the lower case r's to the bottom of the page.

Step 5. Glue the small tree tops on top of the lower case r's. It is okay of they overlap.

Step 6. Glue the animals on top of the letters.

Hello my name is Kenzi and I am studying to be an Early Childhood Education teacher. My current interests include designing a preschool/kindergarten curriculum to incorporate a weekly theme in all areas of study. I also love the concept of alphabet art as you will probably be able to tell soon. As a warning, none of my activities have been tested with children as of yet.
